This weekend the various Swifts sides head off to points known and unknown around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty region.

The Waikato Stud Matamata Swifts return to WaiBOP Premiership action and face a difficult assignment at 4th placed Melville United. The Swifts have games in hand over many of the teams above them but they need to take something from this sort of fixture if they’re they to make an impact on the top of the league this season. The match kicks off at 2.45pm on Saturday at Gower Park in Hamilton.

Richardson Racing Stables Swifts Reserves head in the opposite direction on Saturday. They face their longest away day of the season when they travel to Rex Morpeth Park to take on Whakatane Town. Whakatane currently sit last with only a point to their name but the reserves need to guard against complacency if they’re to travel home with all three points. The match also kicks off at 2.45pm.

On Sunday the Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies get to enjoy the comforts of home when they host Mangakino in Waikato Women’s Division B. The Ladies have made a fine start to the season, including last Sunday’s 5-0 win over Cambridge which also ensured they held on to the Carter Memorial Challenge Cup. They’ll be looking for more of the same this week. The match kicks off at 11am at the Domain.

Our junior teams are at various points across the Waikato, with four teams playing at home and five away. Click here to find out where our specific teams are playing.

Weather permitting, our Mini-Kickers programme will continue from 9am to 10am at the Domain.
