Along with the beginning of the FIFA World Cup knock-out phase, this weekend sees our teams hit various parts of the Waikato.
The Stanley Joinery Matamata Swifts head to what is likely to be a challenging Gower Park to play Melville United, a side that defeated them 2-1 earlier in the season. The Swifts finally have some form on the board, so another result isn’t out of the question. Kick-off is at 2.45pm.
The Swifts Reserves are at home again. They host Claudelands Northerners, one of only two sides to beat them in the league this season. Nothing short of victory is needed to keep the reserves in the title race. Kick-off is at 1pm at the Matamata Domain.
On Sunday the Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies head to Morrinsville to play Waikato Division C’s bottom placed side. Another win will keep the ladies rolling along at the top of the table. Kick-off is at 11am.
The Matamata Sports World Under-17s have a bye this weekend.
Only two of our Junior teams are at home this weekend. Click here to view the Matamata Swifts draws page, then click on the team’s name to find out where they’re playing. Mini-kickers is still scheduled to go ahead but will depend on the weather on Saturday morning.
