The Matamata Domain plays host to a double header on Saturday afternoon when the Waikato Stud Matamata Swifts and Richardson Racing Stables Swifts Reserves welcome Katikati and Tokoroa respectively.

The Swifts play Katikati at 2.45pm while the Swifts reserves kick off against Tokoroa at 12.30pm.

In the morning, we are hosting the McDonald’s Roadshow, in conjunction with WaiBOP Football, for our Mini-Kickers group. That begins at 9am at the Domain.

Most of our Junior 8th to Open Grade teams are also at home on Saturday. Click here to find out where and when they’re playing.

The Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies have the weekend off due to the FIFA U-20 World Cup quarter final that is being played in Hamilton on Sunday.

To make the most of the afternoon’s double header, the club is hosting a fundraiser to support a club member in his battle against Breast Cancer.

Raffle: Jamie Cox (pictured) Fundraiser Day will see a Black And Decker 65 Piece DIY Kit, which includes an 18V Cordless Drill, kindly donated by Morrbuild Ltd and a large hamper, valued at $200, donated by Challenge and Caltex Matamata, filled with an assortment of goodies to be raffled off during the day. $2 a ticket, three for $5.00.

Cross Bar Hoop Challenge: After the WaiBOP Premiership game, there will also be a Baigent Motors Cross Bar Hoop Challenge, which entails a hoop hanging from the centre of the cross bar and the ball placed on the 18 yard box. $5.00 to enter the competition. From the 18 yard box you must try to kick the ball into the hoop. If you miss you’re out, if you get it in, you’re into the next round. Winner takes all for the NZ Football Shirt kindly donated by Baigent Motors.

Karma Keg: There will also be a Karma Keg. Cups will be provided, $5 a beer.

All proceeds from the Karma Keg, Raffles and Cross Bar Hoop Challenge will go towards helping Jamie fight his battle against Breast Cancer.

This is a great opportunity for all club members and friends to get down to the Domain, enjoy two entertaining football matches, while supporting one of our own.
