The Swifts reserves completed their 2014 Waikato Division A campaign with a draw against Print House Waikato Cup winners, Claudelands Rovers reserves.
The reserves took a 2-0 lead into the break thanks to goals from David Hyslop and Jamie Cox. It was a more even half of football than the score suggested, however, as the visitors showed in the second half.
Claudelands scored two fine goals to level things up and, if it wasn’t for the efforts of Matt Aberhart in Matamata’s goal, could well have won.
In the end, Matamata finished their season as they began; with a draw.
