Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies have taken a huge step towards winning the Waikato Ladies Division C title on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten Te Awamutu.
Sarah Coppard and Annemieke Verstraten struck the goals that moved Ladies three points clear at the top with a game in hand. They are now the only unbeaten side in the league, have scored the most goals (by a long way) and have conceded the least.
Ana Paterson pulled of some superb saves in goal to ensure the team preserved their lead.
