The Swifts have drawn 0-0 with Hukanui Rototuna Clube in their latest pre-season match.

Played at a Cyclone Lusi ravaged Matamata Domain, both sides made the best of the conditions in what was a physically challenging afternoon of football.

Decent chances were created at both ends but neither side could find that little bit of quality needed to carve out a winner.

Swifts coach, Chris Powell, was generally pleased with what he saw from his side. “We had a number of guys out today, which was great for me as I got to have a good look at some of our younger players in positions they haven’t played for us yet,” he said after drying out after the match. “I saw I few things from a couple of players I hadn’t seen so far, so that made this a worthwhile outing. That’s what pre-season is all about for me.”

The Swifts travel to Links Ave next Saturday for the Federation Pre-Season Cup finals day. Our opponents are yet to be determined.
