The 2015 season hits its final stretch this weekend, with the Swifts and Reserves beginning a run of three consecutive home games while two teams head to Hamilton on the hunt for silverware.

Saturday’s double header at the Domain sees Waikato Stud Matamata Swifts host Old Blues from Tauranga in the WaiBOP Premiership at 2.45pm. This match comes hot on the heels of our Richardson Racing Stables Swifts Reserves playing promotion chasing West Hamilton United in the WaiBOP Championship at 12.30pm.

The two Swifts sides lost narrowly to their opponents earlier in the season and will be hoping to overturn those results. A win to the Swifts would continue their rise up the table after two wins in the last two weeks, while the Reserves could have a say in the promotion race if they get something from the early game.

One of our junior teams is in action on Saturday. The 10th Grade Matamata Swifts Dragons play the Western United Snakes in the Waikato 10th Grade Knockout final. The match kicks off at 10am at Glenview Park. Best of luck to the Dragons!

On Sunday, the Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies head to Galloway Park in Hamilton to play Hamilton North in the final of the Waikato Ladies Plate competition. The team is bidding to win this trophy for the second time in three seasons and will be confident of beating a side they defeated 3-0 earlier in the season. The match kicks off at 1pm.

The club’s prizegiving for our 8th to Open Grade junior teams is also on Sunday – 11.30am at the Domain.
