Now the junior season is underway we’re on a stretch of pretty busy weekends at the club.

On Saturday, the Stanley Joinery Swifts travel to Te Puna to play unbeaten AFC Fury in their latest Waikato BOP Federation League Division 1 fixture, while the Swifts reserves head to Hamilton to play bottom side, Unicol, in Waikato Division A. Both games kick off at 2.45pm.

On Saturday morning all our junior teams are in action at various points around the Waikato, while our Mini-Kickers programme heads into its second week.

On Sunday the Domain hosts two matches. Our unbeaten table topping Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies host Cambridge in Waikato Women’s Division C at 11am followed by the Swifts Under-17s, who host Hamilton Wanderers in the WaiBOP U-17 Youth League at 1pm.

Note for our Junior players

Two new coaching programmes are available.

The Football For All Programme is aimed at Year 1 to 6 children who want to have a run time and enhance their skills. It is open to cub members and non-members alike, so please spread the word and tell all your mates. This programme is free for all current Matamata AFC registered players. Click here for more.

The Matamata Skill Centre is being run by WaiBOP Football, in conjunction with our club, for our 11th and Open Grade players. It takes the place of last year’s Sunrise Academy and is for players who are serious about getting in some extra training. Click here to for more information and to sign up.
