The Waikato junior football season gets underway this Saturday so we have a lot to look forward to over the weekend.

Saturday May 10

On Saturday, the Stanley Joinery Matamata Swifts host Old Blues in their latest Waikato Bay of Plenty Federation League Division 1 fixture. Could this be the day they finally get off the mark? Kick-off is at 2.45pm at the Domain.

Here’s the latest issue of Pulling A Swift One, our match day programme.

The Swifts Reserves play Melville United in the curtain raiser. Kick-off is at 12.30pm.

In the morning all our 8th to Open Grade travelling teams begin the grading part of their season. You can find out where our teams are playing here.

Our mini-kickers programme also starts on Saturday. The first session begins at 9am at the Domain. Click here for more information.

Sunday May 11

The Swifts Ladies will look to continue their great start to the season at Te Awamutu. Like Matamata, Te Awamutu is unbeaten so far this season, so this will be a great test for the team. Kick-off is at 11am at the Te Awamutu Stadium.

Our Under-17s begin their season with a trip to Rotorua to play Geyser Football. This is the first ever match for a Swifts under-17 side. Kick-off is at 1pm at Neil Hunt Park.

Monday May 12

We welcome the FIFA U-20 World Cup trophy to the Matamata Domain at 3pm. But then you already knew that, didn’t you? Click here for more.
