There’s not too much local football on this weekend, due in large part to the final of the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Neither the Waikato Stud Matamata Swifts or the Richardson Racing Stables Swifts Reserves have a competition game this Saturday, although the reserves are involved in a friendly. They host a Cambridge side on Saturday at the Domain with a 12.30pm kick-off.

Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies are back in action, however, after having last Sunday of thanks to the World Cup. The ladies host second-placed Cambridge at the Domain on Sunday. The two sides are level on points, however, so a win to Matamata will see us grab hold of second spot. The match kicks off at 11am.

Our 8th to Open Grade junior sides also have the weekend off thanks to the World Cup, but the Mini-Kickers are still scheduled to go ahead (weather permitting, of course). They get underway at 9am at the Domain.
