What’s on – August 2/3

Stanley Joinery Matamata Swifts host the league leading and unbeaten AFC Fury on Saturday in a match that, if the earlier meeting between the two sides is anything to go by, could be a real thriller. Fury won that one 6-4 and another evenly spread ten goals would suit the neutral fan, if not the coaching staff, just nicely. The match kicks off at 2.45pm at the Domain.

Earlier on Saturday, the Swifts Reserves play Cambridge in another top-two Waikato Division A battle. After knocking off Hamilton Wanderers last Saturday, the table topping reserves must now take on their latest nearest challengers. The match kicks off at 12.30pm at John Kerkhof Park, Cambridge.

On Sunday the Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies host Mangakino United in the first round of the Waikato Plate competition. Matamata won this competition last year and will look to begin their defence with another home victory. The match kicks off at 11am at the Domain.

The Matamata SportsWorld U-17s travel to Links Ave to take on Tauranga City United in their latest Federation U-17 match. Tauranga won 6-1 at the Domain so our guys will be looking to atone for that performance. The match kicks off at 12.30pm at Links Ave.
