It looks like we’ll all be swimming again this weekend. Subject to early morning ground inspections, this is what should be happening over the weekend…
We’re set to host another double header at the Domain. Waikato Stud Matamata Swifts welcome Melville United for a 2.45pm kick-off. The two sides drew 0-0 at Gower Park earlier in the season, but since then Melville have been in find form. They currently sit in third on the table and only two weeks ago came close to knocking over the league leaders at Cambridge. They’ll be tough to crack.

In the early game at the Domain, Richardson Racing Stables Swifts Reserves play Whakatane Town at 12.30pm. We beat Whakatane 2-0 at their place in the first round and will be looking for a repeat performance tomorrow. They have improved in recent weeks but still sit second from bottom on the table so we need to bag all three points to maintain our top six spot.
Fresh off bagging their place in a cup final, Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies travel to Hamilton on Sunday for their Waikato Division B top six match against Unicol. We beat Unicol 3-0 at the University earlier in the season and will be hoping for a repeat performance this weekend. The match kicks off at 11am.
Our 8th to Open Grade Junior teams will be in action in their various Championship leagues, subject to the ground conditions in Hamilton. Click here to find out where our various teams are playing. We also have two junior teams in Knock-out Cup action and both are playing at the Domain on Saturday afternoon. Our Open Grade Hornets meet Peachgrove at 1pm, while our 10th Grade Dragons play Cambridge at 2.30pm
Should the games be cancelled we’ll post an article on the website and our Facebook page.
Our Mini-Kickers programme will continue at the Domain as usual. Start time is 9am. Only a massive downpour will stop this hardy group.
