We have a BIG problem.

A lack of administration strength, depth, and talent is acting as a handbrake holding your club back from reaching its full potential. While this is something we’d like to rectify heading into the 2024 season, we can’t do it without your help.

We need people with a range of skills who have an interest in football in our community and the enthusiasm to help us grow something new.

Do you have skills in the following areas: administration (business and/or NGO), business development, commercial, entrepreneurship, finances, football/futsal, fundraising, governance, hospitality, HR, law, marketing & communications, strategy, and more?

A new structure

As a starting point, we propose re-structuring the way our management committee is organised. Our proposal is that a new Executive group will be formed, which is responsible planning, strategy, budgets, appointments, along with new Operations groups that will be responsible for getting things done. Each group has specific roles that need to be filled.

  • The Executive will meet monthly.
  • The Operations groups will meet as required.

Swifts for Life

Matamata Swifts AFC is the beating heart of our community. That’s the plan, at any rate. We know we touch every corner of our community, but our capacity to grow the club and promote the beautiful game in our backyard has been, quite simply, hampered by a lack of capacity.

That’s where you could help. You may have played, or coached, or watched, or sponsored football in our community. That makes you a Swift for life. Pretty cool, right? This is your club so we’d like you to put your stamp on it once more. Please consider getting involved again, or taking a far more active involvement in one of the many areas that affect our sport in this wonderful community.
