Review – July 26/27

We had two wins and a loss from the three senior games played this weekend.

On Saturday, the Swifts Reserves made no race of their top of the table clash with Hamilton Wanderers. The 5-1 win was an impressive result coming from a very good performance. Click here for a match report and photos.

On Sunday, the Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies lost 4-0 to Unicol B in their opening Waikato Cup match. The defeat, the team’s first of the season, dropped them into the Plate competition. This is the same competition the team won in 2013.

The Matamata SportsWorld Swifts U-17s defeated Whakatane Town 1-0. Jordan Wise scored the solitary goal during and end to end match in which both Mark Russenburger and Finn Challis were stand-out performers.

The Stanley Joinery Matamata Swifts had their match against Cambridge postponed.
