Matamata Swifts is pleased to announce that Rob Cox has been appointed head coach of Challenge Matamata Swifts Ladies for the 2024 season.
Cox, assisted by Scott Hudson this season, will be familiar to most current and recent players, having coached the team prior to 2022. He’s pleased to be back in the role and is looking forward to the start of pre-season training.
“An important part of the club’s mission is to build the strength and depth of women’s and girls football in Matamata,” explained Cox. “We have a solid group of senior players who are Swifts already, or have been recently. We want to build them into a competitive team, and one that also has a heap of fun while doing it.
“There’s been a lot of interest in girls football in Matamata at the junior and youth level over the last few seasons, so we’d also like the team to be one that our junior footballers can enjoy watching and, hopefully, be inspired by.”
Details for pre-season will be shared directly with current players through team communication channels. Any other footballer interested in playing for the Swifts Ladies in 2024 can email us HERE or contact Rob on 027 230 7112.
