Matamata Swifts is pleased to announce that Rob Cox and Scott Hudson, the coaching team who successfully led Scott Electrical Matamata Swifts Ladies to a league and cup double last season, and with it promotion, will continue with the team as they move into the 2025 WaiBOP W-League.

It’s an approach full of consistency for a coaching and playing group that was so successful in 2024.

“We had a tight knit group of players that worked hard for each other, played some good football, and had a heap of success in 2024,” said Cox. “It was a good group to work with, so it’s a no-brainer for Scott and I to go again this season.

“The W-League will be an excellent challenge for us, as coaches and also for the players. We’ll need to work harder and be even more consistent from week to week. While it’ll be harder, and we’ll be asking more from the players, and from ourselves as coaches, I believe we have the potential to represent the Swifts well and make an impression on the league.”

The club expects most of the 2024 squad to return, but we’re also keen to welcome any new player keen to ply their trade with the Swifts.

Details for pre-season will be shared directly with current players through team communication channels. Any other footballer interested in playing for the Swifts Ladies in 2025 can email us HERE or contact Rob on 027 230 7112.
